Family Connections, Inc. was established in 2001 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Family Connections, Inc. and began with a contract with the State of Iowa to provide Rehabilitative Treatment and Support Services (RTSS) to Iowa's children and families in need. In addition, Family Connections, Inc. also obtained a contract with Magellan and Iowa Medicaid to provide services to families under the Iowa Plan.

From 2001-2006, Family Connections, Inc. provided services to Iowa's children and families primarily through the RTSS system.

In 2006, the child welfare system was redesigned. Family Connections, Inc. readily adjusted to these changes to insure continued care for Iowa's children and families in need.

Since 2006, Family Connections, Inc. has been serving Iowa's families through Remedial, Medicaid, private pay, private insurance, and court ordered services.

In 2008, Family Connections, Inc. expanded into the Omaha Metropolitan area providing mental health counseling services through private insurance, Nebraska Medicaid, and private pay.

In 2010, Family Connections, Inc. expanded services in Omaha and Council Bluffs to include groups, classes, and coaching services.

In 2011, Family Connections, Inc.'s office in Omaha added the Family Care Advocate program.  Family Connections Inc.'s office in Council Bluffs began providing Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) that replaced Remedial Services.  Both offices began providing free anger management classes (How to Tame Your Dragon and Boiling Point) for children and their parents.

 Family Connections, Inc.provides the full continuum of therapy services available in the State of Iowa and Nebraska.

Family Connections, Inc. employees fully trained individuals who possess the necessary skills to provide the services Family Connections, Inc. provides.  This training and knowledge allows Family Connections, Inc. to provide the individual and families of Iowa and Nebraska the highest level of care and service.
